About: My friend @jasondipopolo and I participated in the Netflix and Adobe XD Creative Jam. We designed a prototype of a desktop web app concept in 2 days using Adobe XD.

The question asked: How might we help families and friends utilize this platform and share their experience with content such as series television shows and movies they love?

The challenge: Design a third-party desktop web site or desktop app (not Netflix-branded) where the community can celebrate shared stories together through communal and authentic experiences.

Our Solution: We decided to create a group chat-based website like Discord that allows people to create groups to talk about their favorite shows and movies. They can also use a tool called The Eye of Projections. This tool allows groups to project a poll onto their group chat to create further discussions on everyone's predictions for their up coming watch party.

Our Process: Since we only had 48 hours to work on this, there was a lot of cramming. We first sketched a couple ideas and discussed a lot of points the first day then came to an agreement on the design. We began working in XD the next day and found we were running low on time. I would've liked to refine this site a little more but I am happy with the outcome for the amount of time we were given.

What I Learned: I am glad I participated in this competition with Jason. I learned a lot about UX/UI design and am very comfortable using Adobe XD now. I do think we could have added some aspect of watching TV shows and Movies with other people, but that was an element we decided to leave out in the design because the theme is about discussing TV Shows and Movies.
