RETRO GAMER

ABOUT:

This is a personal project portraying a day in the life of a new, modern retro gamer discovering the retro gaming community during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a small documentation of where you would find the community and what someone discovering retro gaming may be thinking throughout the day.

THE PROJECT:

I chose to create a short comic book that both the younger and older generations of modern and retro gamers may be interested in reading. It is called a “photo-comic book” due to the use of manipulated photographs throughout the book which ultimately merges reality and retro gaming. I also chose a console (NES) as the main theme for this “issue” and used colors and typography that relate to the console and games.
